Why do I need to book a Trial?
A makeup trial, no matter what your event, allows you the opportunity to see how your makeup will look & last for your Special Event, with the added bonus of getting to know each other. I’ve found throughout my career that makeup is a very subjective media. A makeup trial gives us the time to communicate & fulfill your makeup desires. Always bring along pics of the look you would like to achieve, it’s true what they say, a picture paints a thousand words. Keep in mind that everyone’s facial features are unique & we may have to alter a design to best suit you. Another great idea is to wear a colour similar to what you will be wearing to your Special Occasion, whether it’s an awards night, engagement, wedding, christening or a night out with the Girls. I develop a face map of all the products & colours used to perfect your look. This ensures that the design you fell in love with at your trial, will be flawlessly applied for your event.
When Should I book in for my Trial?
At least 3-6 months prior to your event. Booking a MUA you feel comfortable with will give you peace of mind, it’s one more thing you can tick off your list. I always tell my clients, try & save your trial for another Special Occasion, if you have one coming up.
How do I secure my date?
A deposit of $150 secures your date.
What happens if I have to change the date?
If I’m available for your new date, payment will hold for your new date.
Will my makeup last for the entire event?
If you take a look at my “love notes” page you will see, clients have made particular reference to their makeup lasting for their entire event. This is achieved by using high quality, professional products.
Your skin needs to be in its best condition prior to the event. Start your skin prep 3- 6 months out from your event. This means getting serious about the whole cleanse, tone & moisturise routine. You want to achieve the best texture possible.
I use high quality foundation primers suited to your particular skin type. This will hold onto the foundation & maintain a flawless finish. I use foundations & concealers from the following brands

- Laura Geller
- NARS
- MAKE-UP STUDIO
- PHOERA
- Too Faced
Along with a veil of finally milled translucent powder, I apply a spritz of the infamous URBAN DECAY allnighter setting spray to set your makeup.
I use a PLouise eye primer to keep your eye makeup in place along with a waterproof mascara.
As for your lips, remember you will be kissing 💋 sipping champagne🥂 & eating 🍰 If I told you your lip colour is going to last all night that would be a big fib 😍 You definitely will need your lip colour for top ups, plus a translucent powder & if you tend to have oily skin, some makeup blotting papers.
What happens on the day?
I come to you 😍 We set up in an area with good natural light, if this isn’t possible, I have a ring light we can use, to get the perfect lighting for applying your makeup. It usually takes me about 10 minutes to prep my kit & have everything at my fingertips. An adult makeup can take 30-40 minutes. I allow 40-50 minutes if you are the Bride. When providing makeup services for a bridal party, my aim is to have all makeups completed 1 hour to 45 minutes prior to your photographer’s arrival 📸 This allows you a comfortable time frame to get ready for your Special Event 🎈 If you have any further questions, you can drop me a comment below.
