Last month we chatted about how in a mere 5 minutes, using quality products, you can look polished & put together. If you have a little more time up your sleeve, say an extra 5 minutes to spoil yourself, you can take yourself from fresh to downright HOT 🔥 Those luxe products you stash away in a drawer for special occasions, it’s time to get them out. Building on the base makeup from last month’s blog; I’ll be sharing my Pro MUA tips to take your makeup from fresh & pretty to pure sophistication.
FOUNDATION & CONCEALER:
You’ve already applied your foundation & concealer using the tips from last month. Remember the tips for using your concealer as a highlighter?
EYES:
Time to add depth & highlight to your eyes, otherwise known as contouring. You’ve already primed & added a wash of a skin toned colour. Next take a mid-tone colour (a soft warm brown is fool proof & works for everyone) sweep this into your socket line with a mid-sized blending brush (a sigma E25 of morphe R39 are perfect for this)
Be precise & keep the colour confined to the crease. Add a shimmery champagne powder or pigment to the inner corner of your eye & matte vanilla or skin toned shade just under the arch of your brow. All of these steps make your eyes look bigger, adding instant magnetism. Line your upper lid & if your eyes can handle it the waterline. I always feel black is a lux colour, if you want something more subtle use smokey greys, deep emerald greens or metallic burnished coppers. If you have smaller eyes & you want them to look bigger, keep the smokiness to the outer lash line & pop a vanilla or skin toned pencil in your waterline. It’s time to curl your lashes add mascara & a set of falsies.
CHEEKS:
Your favourite cheek colour will be perfect, all you need to do is add a little highlight to the top of your cheeks. My go to is Revolution Highlighter Reloaded, available in Priceline. It adds a soft sheen rather than a shimmer, I even use it to add highlight to the centre of my face.
Add a soft layer of bronzer/contour to the undersides of your cheek bones. Note for newbies, powders are always easier to work with & more forgiving than a cream formula. For my clients I use a bronzing stick from Mecca, the Off Duty Contour Stick in medium. To add longevity, I layer with a powder bronzer.
Remember to blend, blend, blend for a natural look.
LIPS:
When I have that extra 5 minutes up my sleeve, I like to layer my lips with a lipstick & gloss. For a more rounded, seductive pout, dab your finger into some highlighter & pop it just a the top of your cupid’s bow & the bottom curve of your lip.
